Specialist business property adviser, Christie & Co, has announced the sale of Braintree Nursing Home in Essex.
Braintree Nursing Home is a ‘Good’ rated home registered to care for adults with dementia, mental health conditions, physical disabilities, sensory impairments, and substance misuse problems. The home, just a short walk from Braintree town centre, is registered for 51 residents and comprises 41 bedrooms spread across two separate, two-storey buildings that have been sympathetically refurbished in recent years.
Braintree Nursing Home has been owned by Tony McLean and Conor Gallagher of Excellence in Care Group since May 2021 and, following a confidential sales process with Christie & Co, has now been purchased by Emilda Healthcare Limited whose owners have been in the care sector for over 20 years and bring a wealth of nursing home management experience to the business. Their medium-term plan is to build a new wing and add a further 11-bed facility within the home.
Tony McLean and Conor Gallagher, previous owners of Braintree Nursing Home, comment, “We are delighted that the home will continue to trade under the leadership of Emilda Healthcare Limited, and that they will continue the legacy of Braintree Nursing Home of serving the local community since it was first established by Vic and Sue Dixon.”
Jordan Oborne, Associate Director – Care at Christie & Co, who handled the sale, comments, “Our client required a transaction with exceptionally quick completion. As a result, we took the unusual step to specifically market seeking cash offers. Interested buyers viewed our data pack before submitting tentative offers prior to the buyer being selected. Our client and the buyer worked well together to achieve the completion in a short space of time. This sale further demonstrates the strength of buyer appetite for care homes with strong underlying asset values.”
Braintree Nursing Home was sold for an undisclosed price.
