Volunteers across the UK, looking to take part in the Big Help Out as part of the Coronation Celebrations in May, are being called upon to spend a little time with residents from Prime Care Group.
The care provider, which has homes in Streatham, London and South Croydon, is opening its doors from Monday 8 May to anyone who has the time to support the people in its care, as part of this national campaign.
The Big Help Out is creating opportunities for everyone to join in and do their bit to mark the King’s Coronation.
Whether you can spare a few hours or an entire day, Prime Care Group wants to hear from those willing to give a little companionship to residents at their two homes, St John’s Nursing Home and Gibson’s Lodge Nursing Home.
Activities could include something as simple as playing a board game, having a chat and enjoying a cup of tea, or reading a book or paper to those in care.
Sandra Bond, Group Operations Director at Prime Care Group, said: “We think the Big Help Out is a great idea and an excellent way for those in our care to get involved in the Coronation Celebrations.
“Volunteers can make a massive difference to the lives of people in care, and so we hope lots of people take this opportunity to come and meet our residents.
“It’s a great way to spend the days around the Coronation, and as many of our previous volunteers and carers will attest, it can be very rewarding.”
