Cedarmore Housing Association

Formed in 1968 by a small group of members from a Baptist Church in Bromley who felt a need to assist local older people who were finding it difficult to cope in their living environment. We now have a residential care home, three sheltered housing schemes and employ over 100 staff. We are a small not-for-profit organisation governed by a Management Committee of volunteers and led by our Chief Executive and Leadership Team.

Active Prospects

Active Prospects is a charitable organisation enabling over 300 people with learning disabilities, physical and mental health needs, and autistic people each year to live full and aspiring lives.

Belong

Belong is a values-based organisation operating dementia specialist community care villages. With over 30 years of experience as a care operator, it applies this solid foundation of knowledge to ensure villages have the right mix of services, facilities and expertly trained colleagues. We were one of the early pioneers of the ‘household’ model for people with dementia and our drive for innovation and excellence has earned us recognition and accolades in the industry, but most importantly from our customers.

Corserv Care

Corserv Care is part of the Corserv Group and provides a range of services under one brand. Leading the way in delivering the best possible care services, we empower change and enhance quality of life through a varied provision of services including home care, reablement, tech enabled care and residential care.

The new board members, and re-elected members join the existing board comprising Sarah Clarke-Kuehn of Sanctuary Care, Maxine Espley of Green Square Accord, Dan Hayes of The Orders of St John Care Trust, Rachel Jones of Jewish Care, Rob Martin of Anchor Hanover and Marianne Wanstall of Brendoncare.

The AGM also heard from a variety of speakers starting with Rachel Sylvester, Chair, The Times Health Commission who shared insights into the work of the Commission. She informed the meeting that submissions from social care providers are still being welcomed for the next two weeks and they can be sent to health.commission@thetimes.co.uk with the report set for publication in February 2024.

Cynthia Bullock, Deputy Challenge Director, Healthy Ageing, UK Research and Innovation, together with Karen Hedge, Deputy CEO, Scottish Care and Professor Vic Rayner OBE then delivered their reflections on the Social Care International Workforce Summit which took place in Glasgow on 6th September as part of the Global Ageing Conference. The Summit highlighted differing and common global workforce challenges, trends and solutions. A report will shortly be published summarising the discussions and making a series of recommendations.
