Sandstone Care Group is adding a dash of culinary flair to our recipe for exceptional care, with the appointment of Rachelle White as our new Regional Head of Catering & Hospitality.
Rachelle is here to sprinkle some magic across all nine Sandstone care homes, from comforting classics to culinary adventures.
Steven Hamblett, Operations Director for Sandstone Care Group, said: “The idea to have a Regional Head of Catering came from Sandstone’s commitment to provide nutritional, high-quality meals for our residents, across all of our care homes. We want to ensure the quality and variety of every meal is consistent and all dietary requirements are catered for.
“We’re passionate about providing high quality meals and, where possible, including locally sourced ingredients for our wonderful residents, who we consider part of our Sandstone family.”
Rachelle’s promotion from within the organisation speaks volumes about her talent and dedication. She’s been stirring up joy since she first joined us in 2017 as Chef at Oak Springs Care Home in Liverpool.
“We’re delighted that we were able to recruit for this role by promoting from within the Sandstone Group. Rachelle has shown real skill and dedication to her role and has always put a smile on our residents’ faces, through her delicious food and her lovely sense of humour.
“Rachelle will be working alongside the catering teams at all nine of our care homes, to ensure menus are varied, suitable for all diets and of course, absolutely delicious! She will also be looking at other ways we can improve the dining experience for our residents, through our café and restaurant environments and catering teams.
“We’re excited to see what changes Rachelle has in store for us!”
So, what’s Rachelle cooking up? Besides planning delicious and nutritious dishes, she’s all about harmony in the kitchen. Rachelle’s rolling up her sleeves to streamline processes, tidy up paperwork, and make sure every chef has the tools they need to create mouthwatering meals.
But that’s not all! Rachelle’s got big plans to sprinkle some magic in the dining rooms too.
Picture cosy corners, friendly faces, and meals served with a side of smiles. It’s all about creating an atmosphere where residents feel right at home.
Rachelle White, Regional Head of Catering & Hospitality, said: “I’m really pleased to have been trusted by Sandstone Care Group to improve the catering offering across our care homes.”
“Having joined the team back in 2017 as a chef at Oak Springs, I know all the systems and processes well and have lots of ideas for how to build on our amazing work. My goal is to keep bringing nutritious, satisfying meals to our residents, who deserve the very best standards of care – which includes the meals they eat every day!”
With Rachelle’s passion for food and dedication to residents’ well-being, it’s sure to be a delicious journey at Sandstone Care Group!
