Danforth expands across Norfolk with a third 3rd opening in the county in the last 18 months. Coronation House in Thetford joins Heath Lodge in Holt and Broadlands Lodge in Ipswich already up and running in Norfolk. The latest Danforth Care Home opened its doors to the public on the 10th of May, with Coronation House opened officially by Mayor of Thetford Councillor Chris Harvey with a ribbon cutting ceremony. The opening has created a further 60 jobs for the area, bringing the total number of Danforth jobs in the county to 180.
Coronation House care home is located in the beautiful Thetford, a thirty-minute drive from Bury St Edmunds in an ideal location just off the A11.
The Norfolk care home has been purpose built by LNT and contains 66 ensuite rooms. These are all available for one inclusive fee with 24-hour care and a personalised activity programme, as well as restaurant quality food cooked by the onsite chef team every day. The site also contains an on-site cinema, salon, café and library.
All three care homes have been designed to be very ecofriendly, with 80% of the available roof space lined with solar panels, and the homes making their own electricity, and selling what they don’t need back to the grid. The buildings also operate without gas and are A rated for energy, with an underground system running miles below the care homes to heat the home’s hot water, provide underfloor heating and air cooling as a welcome additional bonus for those living at the homes.
A state-of-the-art complex, each of the private rooms have an ensuite wet room, as well as a flat screen TV, a mini fridge and underfloor heating for residents to full enjoy. The home is mainly residential, but respite care is also available. The care provided is 24-hour residential care and dementia care, an ideal option for elderly people who could benefit from some extra support and security in their lives.
Each role within Coronation House and all other Danforth Care roles across the country come with a fully funded DBS check and full support in completing an NCQ qualification if desired. All jobs have permanent contracts and come with uniforms. Danforth are currently hiring for roles for this care home – role vacancies can be found on the website.
The Home Manager Teresa Burgess has a wealth of experience in the care industry, working her way up the ladder from care assistant to manager.
Teresa says: “My vision with Coronation House is to cultivate a relaxed, homely atmosphere which feels like family for all residents and visitors alike. It’s so exciting to see the doors finally open and to see this vision become a reality. We will strive for residents to find purpose and enjoy a fulfilling experience at this next chapter in their lives.”
