by Kirsty Kirsty

On Friday the 9th of August, the latest Danforth Care Home was officially opened with a ribbon-cutting ceremony by the Deputy Mayor of Nuneaton and Bedworth Borough Council, Bhim Saru, in Warwickshire. Holly Grange House in Nuneaton is now up and running, creating 60 jobs for the local area.

The new home is situated in the town of Nuneaton, just a 30-minute drive from Coventry, with great transport connections via the AA44 and the A5 to the surrounding area.

The Nuneaton care home has been purpose-built by LNT Care Developments and contains 66 rooms with ensuites, complete with flat screen TVs, mini fridges and a wet room. The complex includes an onsite beauty salon, café, library and cinema. Residents who live there will receive 24-hour specialist care as well as a personalised activity programme tailored to their interests and needs. All available for a single all-inclusive fee, residents will also receive restaurant-quality food cooked by the onsite chef team every day.

Mirroring the other care homes built for Danforth Care Group, Holly Grange House boasts an energy rating of A, with 80% of the roof covered in solar panels, and operating completely without gas. Any electricity not needed will be sold back to the grid. In addition, the home has an underground system running miles into the ground, providing geothermal energy which is used for underfloor heating, hot water and air conditioning for the comfort of the residents.

Each role within Holly Grange House, and all other Danforth Care roles across the country, come with a fully-funded DBS check and full support in completing an NCQ qualification, if desired. All jobs have permanent contracts and come with uniforms. Danforth are currently hiring for roles for this care home on their website.

The Home Manager Helen Bundell has a career which spans 35 years, starting in nursing in  operating theatres and working her way up to hospital management. As well as this, she has a BA in Adult Education and an MA in Leading Change, showing her passion for education and staff progression, which will make for a wonderful environment for junior and senior staff alike.

Helen says: “I am so excited to leading Holly Grange House here in Nuneaton; it is a wonderful opportunity for all of the team to provide excellent care in an amazing environment. It’s great to be opening the doors officially today, and welcoming in the community whom we will be a part of.”
