Lorna Rose has been appointed as Chief Executive Officer of Athena Care Homes.
Lorna is an accomplished Chief Executive with over 25 years’ experience in operational leadership roles in the health and social care sector. Most recently, Lorna was the Chief Executive Officer at The Avery Heath Care Group where she led transformation and significant growth. Prior to that, Lorna spent a number of years working at both Barchester Healthcare and Bupa in directorial roles.
Inspired by Athena Care Homes’ ethos and culture, Lorna, a highly motivated leader with a passion for providing exceptional resident care, said “I am really looking forward to working with Mala and getting to know the dedicated team, our residents, and their families, and building on the great company culture and success already achieved.”
With Lorna joining the company, Mala Agarwal, will transition from Managing Director to Founder and Executive Chair. The move will enable Mala to continue to focus on Athena’s growth plans, both through development, as well as acquisition opportunities, whilst continuing to provide support and direction.
Mala said, “I am very pleased to be welcoming Lorna to our Executive Team and looking forward to working in partnership with Lorna in the next phase of our organisation. We have a very exciting future ahead of us.”
Lorna’s appointment comes during Athena Care Homes’ 10th anniversary celebrations, which have seen their seven care homes, throughout East Anglia, make a series of unique, once in a lifetime, moments for residents and team members. This is part of Athena Care Homes’ commitment to celebrate every individual and leave a positive lasting legacy within their local communities.
