Wesley will be responsible for developing the village team further with the recruitment of the village facilities, operations and village services team, as well as the appointment of a chef to head up the village’s on-site restaurant. He will also be responsible for ensuring the smooth running of the village, and this will involve regular meetings with owners to make sure that they feel listened to and informed, and from the start of their Rangeford journey, help them to integrate into the community, so that Strawberry fields is a happy, vibrant, sociable and thriving community.

Speaking about his new role, Wesley said: “Retirement communities are becoming more and more like five-star hotels with fantastic, quality furnishings and facilities, as retirees look to spend their later years living life in style and luxury. I believe my experience of working in the hospitality sector, as well as in the retirement sector, bodes well both from an operational perspective, and also for having a good understanding to meet our owners and guests’ expectations.”

David Kanarens, Head of Operations, Rangeford Villages commented: “Having worked with Wesley previously, I am very well aware of his expertise in the hospitality sector, this, combined with an excellent understanding of the retirement sector, will no doubt bring a wealth of knowledge to the role.

“Having the right team is place is key to the village’s success and to ensuring that we continue to deliver consistently high standards and service levels for our owners. 2025 will be an exciting year at Strawberry Fields as the village reaches new milestones and we build up to the official opening, and I wish Wesley every success in his new role.”
