Brunelcare is delighted to announce the appointment of Jonathan Spearing as its new Director of Property & Investment, a role created as part of the recent restructure of the charity’s Executive Team.
Jonathan’s role focuses on compliance, investment strategy, and ensuring Brunelcare provides high-quality homes that are fit for the future. His remit includes identifying and evaluating redevelopment opportunities and considering a broader range of investment options to strengthen Brunelcare’s housing and care offering.
Jonathan brings with him more than 18 years of experience in social housing. Most recently, he worked at Centrus as a Director, advising clients across the social housing and care sectors. His work covered everything from governance reviews and strategic planning to raising new debt funding.
Prior to this, Jonathan spent nine years at Poplar HARCA, an award-winning Housing Association in East London specialising in regeneration. As Executive Lead for Governance and Finance, he successfully steered the organisation through two In-Depth Assessments (IDAs) and ensured the retention of its G1 V2 Regulatory Rating.
Jonathan has a particular passion for retrofit, redevelopment, and decarbonisation. He is a Chartered Management Accountant and holds a BSc in Economics from the University of Leeds. Outside of work, he enjoys spending time outdoors with his family, cycling, and occasionally fitting in a game of golf.

I look forward to working with colleagues across the organisation to build on its strong legacy, explore new opportunities, and ensure our homes and services continue to meet the needs of people both now and in the future.”
