Kent business leader wins International Stevie® Award for Women in Business

Umbreen David, Managing Director of Hoama Group Ltd in Staplehurst, Kent has joined an elite group of global business

leaders as a Silver Stevie® Winner for Best Female Entrepreneur in the 2025 Stevie® Awards for Women in Business. Representing the UK’s social care sector, her success shines a spotlight on compassion, innovation, and leadership that puts people first.

The Stevie® Award, regarded as one of the world’s most coveted business honours, has been conferred since 2002 to organisations and individuals in more than 60 countries. Each year, over 1,000 respected executives, entrepreneurs, innovators, and business educators participate in the judging process, making the accolade a true mark of global excellence.

The judges’ recognised Umbreen as a winner due to the significant and sustainable growth of her company with a 45% increase in turnover and performance results that have strengthened the company’s ability to reinvest in people, quality, and innovation across its services including the development of Meadowview a 70-bed therapeutic care home.

Umbreen leads the Hoama Group, the parent company of Iden Manor Nursing Home and the forthcoming Meadow View specialist care development. Her leadership philosophy, “I lift as I climb,” has become the cultural framework underpinning the group’s growth and success.

Combining lived insight with operational excellence, Umbreen has built a values-led business that prioritises empathy as a management strategy, workforce wellbeing and service quality across all levels. Her approach has strengthened team engagement, improved care outcomes and inspired new standards of leadership within the UK’s social care sector.

Umbreen’s work reflects a rare combination of strategic business thinking and human-centred leadership, making her a powerful ambassador for the social care sector in a global business context. “It’s easy to think care is a local business, but the principles that underpin great care; trust, leadership, empathy and innovation, are universal,” Umbreen added. “To be recognised for those values on a global stage is incredibly meaningful.”

Winners were selected from thousands of nominations received from organisations of all sizes and sectors in more than 60 nations.

Hoama Group Ltd is a Kent-based care organisation that owns and operates Iden Manor Nursing Home, providing residential, dementia, and nursing care in a historic Victorian setting, and is currently developing Meadow View, a state-of-the-art specialist home designed to support profoundly deaf residents, individuals with complex dementia, and those with sensory or nursing needs.
