Hartford Care has today acquired Inver House care home in Bembridge, Isle of Wight, from Somerset Care, taking the company to 21 homes and over 1,000 residents.

Rated ‘Good’ by the Quality Care Commission, the 50 bedroom home has benefitted from significant investment over the last few years and offers residential care, end of life care, respite care and day care, along with dementia care in a dedicated 32-bedroom suite, Treetops, within the sympathetically converted Edwardian building.

Inver House is Hartford Care’s fourth care home on the Isle of Wight, alongside Highfield Nursing Home in Ryde, Springfield Nursing Home in Shanklin and The Elms in Bembridge.

Kevin Shaw, CEO of Hartford Care, comments: “Inver House has a fantastic reputation, and we are looking forward to welcoming the team to the Hartford Care family. Our team members are at the heart of our company and are extremely valued for the excellent care they provide to our residents. The acquisition of Inver House is another step towards achieving our goal to double in size over the next three years.”

The acquisition of Inver House comes following the agreement of a new credit facility with NatWest of £45million, funding which will support Hartford Care’s ambitious growth strategy.

Governed by three core principles – care, comfort and companionship, its philosophy is completely focussed on providing a safe and comfortable lifestyle, with a focus on the health and wellbeing of its residents and carers in a high-quality ‘home from home’ setting.

Hartford Care’s head office is based in Basingstoke, Hampshire. Established in 2003, its current care homes are in Bristol, Berkshire (Burnham and Maidenhead), Devon (Sidmouth), Dorset (Poole), Hampshire (Aldershot, Barton-on-Sea, Four Marks, Hythe, Portsmouth, Winchester and Woodlands), Isle of Wight (Bembridge, Ryde and Shanklin), Oxfordshire (Witney) and Wiltshire (Downton and Swindon).
