Audley Wycliffe Park, the new retirement village in Buckinghamshire, celebrated its official opening on Wednesday 29th November.
Nick Sanderson, CEO of Audley Group, was joined by Buckinghamshire Council Chairman, Cllr Patricia Birchley, as well as current and prospective property owners, friends and family, and members of the local community to cut the ribbon and mark the official opening of the village.
With 156 properties set across 25 acres at Horsleys Green, Audley Wycliffe Park is Audley Group’s second village in Buckinghamshire, building on the success of Audley Chalfont Dene in Chalfont St Peter.
A joint venture from Audley Group and the Royal London Pension Property Fund, the village is Royal London’s first investment into the retirement living sector. The teams have worked closely through the build and design phases and will continue to do so, as Audley, with its extensive expertise, takes on the operational running of the village.
At the heart of Audley Wycliffe Park is the Audley Club with its restaurant, bar, library, and luxury health and wellness facilities including a gym and swimming pool. Property owners automatically become members of the club, and the facilities and services, which includes CQC registered Audley Care, are also available to people in the surrounding community.
The village has a selection of high-quality one and two-bedroom properties for sale with prices starting from £420,000.
Nick Sanderson, CEO of Audley Group, commented: “It is fantastic to celebrate the opening of our second village here in Buckinghamshire. Set at the foot of the beautiful Chiltern Hills, the area is surrounded by stunning countryside and market towns, that I’m sure many of our owners will enjoy.
“It continues to be a real pleasure to open new villages, especially with new JV partners like Royal London, as we tackle the undersupply of age specific housing in the UK. It’s incredibly important that we continue to give people more choice over how and where they live as they get older. And crucially, provide options that put health and wellbeing at the core, to enable people to live independent and healthy lives for longer.
“I look forward to visiting the village in the coming weeks and months, as we welcome more owners, and become a part of the local community.”
DJ Dhananjai, Head of Living at Royal London Asset Management Property, said: “It is exciting to see Audley Wycliffe Park, our first retirement project, coming to life and setting a new benchmark in the retirement living sector. Recognising the urgent need for more age-specific housing in the UK, this market-leading retirement project stands as a testament to our dedication to high quality living.
“From vision to reality, it was a five-year journey that defines our strategy for investing in communities that prioritise health and wellness, ensuring everyone can live better for longer. With Wycliffe Park successfully delivered, Royal London Asset Management Property is seeking to invest further capital into the UK residential sectors and expand its property portfolio.”
Cllr Patricia Birchley, Chairman of Buckinghamshire Council, added: “It’s a pleasure to attend the opening of Audley Wycliffe Park, and see first-hand the excellent facilities and beautiful properties available.
“As a previous Chairman of the Bucks Health & Wellbeing Board, I’m passionate about ensuring that Buckinghamshire can provide fantastic retirement options such as Audley Wycliffe Park to help people live better, for longer. With the facilities open to those living in the local area, I am certain that the village will become an integral part of the community.”
