● Social care experts Lottie have listed second in the prestigious Startups 100 Index
● Startups 100 Index has previously identified brands including Monzo, Deliveroo and HelloFresh
The UK’s longest running index of disruptive new startups, the Startups 100, has released its 2024 lineup and Lottie has placed second on the index.
Lottie, founded in 2021 by brothers Chris and Will Donnelly, tackles the UK’s care home challenge with a vetted directory and tech-powered search.
Lottie’s sibling co-founders are perhaps the firm’s greatest strength, winning this year’s exceptional founder award.
Lottie has been climbing the Startups 100 ladder, ranking eighth last year and reaching an impressive second this year, coming in just behind an innovative AI startup, Unitary, which focuses on moderation of harmful online content.
The mission of Lottie is to empower millions of older adults worldwide to live happier, healthier lives while transforming later life care for the better. Their human-focused business simplifies finding trusted care homes at fair prices, saving families an average of £5,000 annually.
Lottie has quickly risen in the care industry; it raised a further £17m in Series A funding earlier this year, bringing the total amount raised by the company to £25m.
The Startups 100 Index has been running for the last sixteen years, spanning all industries with the final list championing a huge range of inventive and original ideas.
In previous years the Startups 100 index has predicted the success of huge names such as Monzo, Deliveroo and Notonthehighstreet, so it is an extraordinary achievement for Lottie to have ranked so highly on this renowned list.

Managing Editor of Startups.co.uk, Richard Parris, comments:
“The ingenuity and innovation of the brands featuring in our annual Startups 100 index never ceases to amaze, and this year is no exception. We’ve seen no end of crises in the past couple of years, including in the care sector. The approachable tech and human-centric focus that drives the Lottie business really helped this brand to stand out for our judges. It’s a business that’s not simply looking to disrupt a sector, but to make life worth living at an incredibly vulnerable stage for so many in the UK.”
