Motion’s co-produced technology reduces administrative burden whilst enhancing family communication and care outcomes

Motion, the care technology company transforming how care homes deliver person-centred care and engage with families, has secured over £250,000 funding to accelerate national expansion. The platform, already supporting over 3,000 residents across multiple care settings, combines investment from sector-experienced angels with an Innovate UK partnership grant.

Developed through extensive collaboration with care providers, residents and families, Motion’s platform addresses two critical sector challenges: reducing administrative burden on care teams whilst significantly improving family communication and transparency. Early adopters report a reduction in time spent on family updates, whilst families receive regular, meaningful insights into their loved ones’ daily activities and wellbeing.

The platform supports care homes in delivering personalised activities programmes, tracking resident engagement and automatically generating family communications that go beyond basic care notes. This approach helps providers demonstrate quality outcomes whilst building stronger relationships with existing and prospective families.

Zeezy Izenman, CEO and founder of Motion, said: “We’ve worked extensively with care providers to understand their daily challenges. Our platform doesn’t add to their workload – it streamlines existing processes whilst creating the meaningful family connections that are so important for resident wellbeing.”

Motion was founded by Izenman whilst volunteering at care homes during his studies at the University of Sheffield, where he recognised the gap between the quality of care being delivered and families’ understanding of that care.

“The Motion team are incredible – they’re very skilled and we love having them working with our care homes,” said Claire Rintoul, CEO of Sheffcare.

The funding will support product development focused on integration with existing care management systems, enhanced analytics for care planning, and expansion of the sales and marketing team to serve the growing demand from care providers nationwide.

Motion has been recognised by the BBC and The Times for its innovative approach to care delivery and family engagement.
