Nourish Care extends role access for GP Connect extension

by Lisa Carr

Introducing GP Connect: Access Record (HTML) will allow non-clinical staff filtered access to the GP record, supporting Health and Social Care providers to deliver the most safe and effective care.

In February 2022, Nourish launched GP Connect to its customers allowing Registered Nurses to access GP records and medical notes for people they support. A focus for the NHS is to refine the way data is shared across care settings and to bridge the gap between primary and social care services. You can find more information about GP Connect here

In April 2022, Nourish extended access to its customers, and now non-clinical roles can access GP Connect within Nourish. The primary goal is to support staff in delivering care safely by ensuring they have the most up to date information to hand.

The filtered view will allow non-clinical staff authorised access to rich information such as allergies and adverse reactions, plus medications and immunisations for the people they support. They will also be able to view the last three encounters with their GP.

Nuno Almeida, Founder and CEO of Nourish Care said.

“The introduction of GP Connect is a huge step towards delivering interoperability and establishing a connected care environment within health and social care. Nourish customers will be able to review relevant and timely medical notes for people they support, leading to better continuity of care, resulting in safer, improved outcomes. I look forward to seeing the positive impact this delivers for care teams and those they support.”

NHSX (now known as the NHS Transformation Directorate) have created strict guidelines to safeguard the information being shared via GP Connect, and require care providers who wish to use this feature to complete their Data Security Protection Toolkit self-assessment (DSPT) to ensure they meet the standards required.

Nourish Care is an app-based care management platform that allows care services to record at the point of care, streamline administrative processes and equip teams with the tools to provide more person-centred care and improve outcomes for the people they support. Nourish was one of the first recognised as an accredited supplier for the Digital Social Care Records (DSCR) DPS at launch and were also the first accredited by the PRSB as a Quality Partner, working to promote best practice standards for care.
