A Yorkshire-headquartered not-for-profit social care provider has strengthened its governance team with two appointments to Compliance Support Officer roles, supporting quality and compliance across services in Yorkshire and North Lincolnshire.
HICA Group has appointed Kelsie Carter and Zak Foster to the posts, where they will work alongside senior colleagues to support care managers and frontline teams in meeting regulatory requirements and maintaining consistent standards.
In their roles, Kelsie and Zak will work closely with services to ensure they operate safely and in line with requirements set by the Care Quality Commission (CQC) and local authorities, helping embed best practice across the organisation.
Terry Peel, HICA’s CEO, said: “These roles have been created to strengthen the support that we provide to our services around compliance and governance. Kelsie and Zak will work closely with managers and teams to help them navigate regulatory requirements, maintain safe working practices and ensure that standards are applied consistently across our services.
“As a not-for-profit care provider, it is essential that we operate transparently, responsibly and in line with the expectations of regulators, commissioners and the communities we serve. These appointments reflect our ongoing commitment to quality and continuous improvement.”
Kelsie brings more than 15 years’ experience working in person-centred roles across employment, education and community services. Her background includes supporting people back into work through the Restart Scheme, delivering and assessing qualifications within HMP Full Sutton, supporting apprenticeship programmes in military settings and working in local communities to help people with mental health needs access employment, education and training.
Kelsie said: “I’m pleased to join HICA Group in this role. While I am new to the care sector, my experience has always focused on person-centred support and helping people work within clear frameworks. I am looking forward to supporting teams to maintain safe, high-quality services for the people they care for.”
Zak joins the organisation with a BA (Hons) in Health and Social Care and is currently completing both a Level 7 Leadership and Management qualification in health and social care and a Level 4 Internal Quality Assurance qualification. He previously worked as a Trainer and Assessor in Health and Social Care, supporting learners and promoting high standards of practice. His background in training, quality assurance and compliance will support teams across the organisation as it continues to strengthen its focus on safe, effective and person-centred care.
Zak said: “I am looking forward to getting to know colleagues across our services, understanding how each team operates and contributing to our shared goal of delivering safe, effective and person-centred care.”
HICA Group provides care and support services across Yorkshire, the Humberside area and Lancashire, working with local authorities and commissioners to support older people, adults with learning disabilities and individuals with additional support needs.
