Apex Prime Care international response to recruitment crisis

As the care staffing crisis continues, south coast home care company, Apex Prime Care have welcomed 40 international recruits from the Philippines to strengthen their workforce. A further 60 staff are to follow later this year.

Home care workers have served as a lifeline to our communities throughout the pandemic. In a time when many faced isolation, the care and companionship from carers ensured some our nation’s most vulnerable were not alone.

As well as highlighting the importance of the social care workforce, the pandemic has created unprecedented pressure on recruiting and retaining home care workers. In December, the government announced that care workers will be added to the Home Office’s shortage occupation list and additional care workers are to be recruited from abroad to fill the much-needed gaps.

The first cohort began their journey from Manila on Thursday 27th January

Apex Prime Care has partnered with BMB International Recruitment, a well-established and ethical overseas healthcare recruitment company, to combat the significant challenges the health and social care sector is facing when recruiting and retaining frontline carers. This year a total of 100 new recruits will be joining the Apex team from the Philippines.

Both businesses are family run and put these values at the heart of everything they do. Apex Prime Care are offering cars and sourcing accommodation to smooth the transition to the UK for their new team members. They will also be on hand every step of the way to help integrate the new recruits into the team and into wider society.
