Four Bluebird Care offices across the south of England have named their local branches of the mental health charity Mind as their charity of the year, as they look to support mental health and wellbeing services in the community.
The Bluebird Care teams in Winchester, Petersfield, Andover and Burnham will undertake a year of fundraising and advocacy activities on behalf of Solent Mind, HEH Mind, Andover Mind and Buckinghamshire Mind respectively. From arranging raffles and sponsored runs to inviting experts from Mind to share mental health insights with local care teams, Bluebird Care will help embed mental health support in the local provision of community care.
As well as supporting Mind’s crucial work in the community, the four Bluebird Care offices hope to further local conversations around the importance of mental health support and signpost the Mind services that deliver this. With approximately one in four British people affected by mental health issues, this sensitive and pragmatic solidarity is more urgent than ever.
The four Bluebird Care offices supporting Mind are part of Bluebird Care’s national franchise network of home care providers. With over 200 offices across the UK and the Republic of Ireland, Bluebird Care is a leading provider of home care, supporting people to live safely and independently in the comfort of their own homes for longer.
Norman Murphy, Managing Director of Bluebird Care in Winchester, Petersfield, Andover & Burnham, said: “We are proud to be an integral part of our local community, and are delighted to support another vital community service like Mind. We know that there are a wide variety of factors that can have huge impacts on people’s mental health, and Bluebird Care are determined to make a positive difference, not just to our customers but everyone in our local community. Our fundraising for our local branches of Mind will have an extremely positive effect on people’s lives, and we can’t wait to get started.”
Kari Channell, Fundraising Lead at Buckinghamshire Mind, said: “Thank you to everyone at Bluebird Care for naming Buckinghamshire Mind as their charity of the year. The funds raised will support and underpin all of our local mental health and wellbeing services, and we are grateful to Bluebird Care for their support in increasing awareness of these.”
