carehome.co.uk is celebrating achieving a milestone of 300,000 care home reviews since it added reviews to the site in 2015. Starting from only 7,784 reviews at the end of 2015, the number has grown exponentially year-on-year.
2023 has seen the highest number of reviews ever in a single year, with 54,611 care home reviews already published so far. Last year saw 45,957 reviews published and 42,929 reviews in 2021.
Reviews on carehome.co.uk, the leading care home reviews site, allow residents and their families to rate care homes on 12 different categories, including quality of care and support, value for money, standard of food, staff, activities and respectful treatment of residents.
There are 11 million people in the UK aged over 65 and in 10 years’ time this will have increased to nearly 13 million people. This ageing population coupled with a rise in the number of people living with multiple health conditions will continue to drive a demand for care homes.
Yet with nearly 17,000 care homes in the UK, the choice and different kinds of care on offer can seem overwhelming, so reviews from care home residents receiving care as well as their families can give a valuable insight into what a care home is really like.
Reviews cannot be left anonymously and the reviews team carry out checks to confirm they are authentic.
