Lakeside Care Centre is a popular care business registered for up to 48 residents with nursing and personal care needs. It occupies an impressive 47-bedroom purpose-built property that is set in 80 acres of parkland and overlooks a beautiful wildlife lake at Watermead Village, an exclusive lakeside development less than a mile from Aylesbury.
The home has been owned by the Dennis family since the mid-nineties and was brought to market to allow them to focus on their other business commitments.
Following a confidential sales process with Jordan Oborne at Christie & Co, the property has been purchased by a regional operator.
Simon Dennis, former owner of Lakeside Care Centre, comments, “My father built the home in the mid-nineties, we operated it for around five years before leasing it out to a national care provider. In 2011, our family business, Barbara (Aylesbury) Limited, took over the running of the care home. We are a small family business that operates in several different sectors, and we have chosen to streamline our affairs as several Directors of the Company are now retired, and another has moved abroad to work. Those left running the business have chosen to focus on the other areas of the Company we are involved with. The business is in excellent health and has bounced back stronger than ever on the back of the COVID crisis. Over the last 13 years, I have worked with some fantastic people and had the pleasure to be involved in the care of hundreds of people.”
Jordan Oborne, Associate Director – Care at Christie & Co, comments, “Lakeside is purpose-built nursing home that has benefitted from a £1,000,000 refurbishment and is set in a beautiful location. Despite running a confidential marketing process, interest in the home was high and competitive offers were received from a number of interested buyers.”
Lakeside Care Centre was sold for an undisclosed price.
