The kitchen team at Black Swan Care Group’s Heathcote care home on Unthank Road in Norwich has been awarded a 5 star food safety certificate following a recent inspection by the Food Standards Agency. The home were delighted when the inspection team awarded the home with the highest level of safety.

Sylvie Ames, the manager at the home explained: “The food we serve to our residents is such an important part of how we support our residents. We provide healthy and nutritious food, catering for all sorts of different dietary needs. All our food is freshly prepared and the kitchen team works very hard to ensure that our residents are offered plenty of choice and we always ask residents to let us know what their favourite meals are and do our best to provide them.

“Our kitchen team always prioritises food safety and cleanliness and a food safety inspection is an essential part of their role. The inspection is thorough. They look at kitchen cleanliness, how we store our food, food preparation areas and lots more. We’re delighted for Mandy and her team in the kitchen who fully deserve this 5 star safety rating for the way they manage their kitchen and for the delicious food they provide.”

Heathcote provides short-term, respite care or longer-term support at the home and was shortlisted in the Team of the Year category at the Norfolk Care Awards 2024.
