Curam, the largest Care Professional marketplace and home-care technology platform in the UK, today announced its new offering of Care Quality Commission (CQC) regulated care packages increasing accessibility to high-quality care for clients with specialist care needs.
Curam’s bespoke platform connects clients with Care Professionals who administer specialist care such as catheter care, PEG feeding and stoma care. Clients can find vetted, trained and high-quality Care Professionals in a matter of minutes or even in real time.
Clients can browse the Curam site, choose a Care Professional, and pay them a negotiated rate, which is, on average, £16 an hour. Since Curam’s fees are the lowest in the care sector at 15%, Curam Care Professionals can earn on average £14 per hour – higher than the national average for care workers of £11.35.
Patrick Wallace, co-founder and Director of Curam, said: “No one who needs care should go without it but unfortunately the UK continues to face a chronic shortage of experienced and specialist Care Professionals, leading to long wait times and low standards. With our new CQC offering, more people will be able to use our platform to manage all care requirements in one place, from start to finish. Patients and vetted, trained Care Professionals can be connected often immediately, consistency can be guaranteed, and specialist care or language skills can be sourced.”
Curam’s new offering comes following its acquisition of London-based Mawii Home Care. As part of the acquisition, carers who work for Mawii will be invited to sign up for Curam’s platform as self-employed Care Professionals, giving them the ability to set their own hourly rate and access free training modules to help advance their careers.
