Agincare strengthens national quality team for future growth

by Kirsty Kirsty

National care provider Agincare has strengthened its quality team, bringing together a wealth of experience and expertise to support its continued growth and commitment to high-quality personalised care.

Suzanne Barnard has joined as Group Quality Director, taking strategic responsibility for quality assurance, governance and continuous improvement across the organisation’s diverse portfolio of services.

Her appointment follows Agincare’s recent acquisitions of Ambient and Amber Housing, which have expanded the group’s footprint to 170 locations nationwide, supported by 5,500 team members.

Suzanne, who will work with Agincare Operations Team across the country, said:

“I am excited to join Agincare at such an important time. Its values, commitment to high-quality care and diversity of services attracted me to the role.

“My focus is on building a first-class quality team, strengthening the excellent foundations already in place, and embedding learning, consistency and continuous improvement as Agincare continues to develop its reach and services.”

The appointment of Suzanne, supported by team members Vicky Reid and Vicky Morris in key roles, sets a strong foundation for continued sustainable growth for the national care provider in years to come.

Agincare Group Chief Executive Raina Summerson said:

“We are delighted to welcome Suzanne to Agincare. She brings an exceptional blend of experience and expertise that will prove invaluable to maintaining our high standards and commitment to quality throughout the organisation as we continue to grow in the future.”

This year marks the 40th anniversary since Agincare Founder and Chairman Derek Luckhurst opened his first care home in Weymouth, Dorset. Today Agincare remains family-owned and has grown on a sustainable basis into a leading independent care provider nationwide.

It now delivers a comprehensive range of services including care and nursing homes, home care and live-in care, supported living, not-for-profit children’s services, training company and housing provision/management.

A Registered Nurse, Suzanne brings extensive senior leadership experience, including director roles across clinical, safeguarding, quality assurance, community care and hospital settings.

Reporting to Suzanne are Vicky Morris, a former CQC inspector with significant quality, occupational therapy and safeguarding  experience across the sector, and Vicky Reid, a proficient operational leader and Registered Manager who has progressed through Agincare’s own ranks over the past six years.
