Lincolnshire housing association seeks new board members

by Kirsty Kirsty

The perfect role for someone passionate about improving the lives of older people in Lincolnshire

LACE Housing is looking for new members to join its voluntary board of management, which consists of individuals who want to make a difference to the lives of older people in Lincolnshire.

Established in 1964, LACE Housing is a specialist housing provider for older people across Lincolnshire and the surrounding areas, committed to delivering a high standard of living and better quality of life for its residents.

It owns properties in many locations, such as Lincoln, Skegness and Grantham, supporting 389 over 55s in Lincolnshire.

The association is on the lookout for people with knowledge in one or more of the following areas; social housing, health and social care, finance and investment, corporate governance and regulation or asset management and residential developments.

Board members are expected to attend six meetings per year, with a mixture of both face-to-face and virtual included, in return for full training provided and expenses paid for by LACE.

Nick Chambers, CEO of LACE Housing, said:

“We’re looking for new board members to join our wonderful team here at LACE. It is a fantastic opportunity to contribute greatly to the community, allowing individuals to give back and share their knowledge and experience.

“We are looking for people who want to dedicate some of their spare time to make a huge difference to the lives of our wonderful residents.

“I’d love to urge anyone who is interested to get in touch, have a read of our information pack and then submit their application – we’d love to hear from as many people as possible who’d like to volunteer.”

Members of the voluntary board are expected to bring a breadth of knowledge and experience to the association – as well as regular contributions to LACE’s long term aims and stability.

The board of management consists of no more than 12 members, with members elected for an initial first term of three years.

LACE Housing will provide a structured induction framework for new members, containing all of the information and support required to become confident and proficient in their roles.

The firm currently offers 336 homes located across the county, with 145 additional homes currently under development, 45 members of staff and 13 volunteers.

The closing date for applications is Sunday 16th April, with interviews to be held week commencing 24th April 2023.

Interested individuals should contact Holly Rae on 01522 514444 or pa@lacehousing.org to request an application pack.
