This comprehensive report showcases CareTech’s unwavering commitment to ESG principles and a responsible corporate strategy. The report highlights the transformative impact it has made since last year’s publication of the first Purpose Report in the sector.
The Purpose Report represents a significant milestone for CareTech, encapsulating its core mission and values to providing Extraordinary Days, Every Day, while demonstrating a transparent overview of the progress made towards its ESG objectives. The report highlights key achievements, inspiring stories and the strategic vision that drives the organisation’s dedication to a lasting impact on individuals, families and communities.
Key highlights of the Purpose Report include:
- Implementation of an Electric Vehicle Scheme
- In the past year, CareTech introduced an Electric Vehicle salary sacrifice scheme for staff and replaced 180 older non-RDE2 compliant diesel lease and hire vehicles with new RDE2 compliant vehicles. This initiative demonstrates CareTech’s commitment to reducing emissions and embracing sustainable practices.
- Support through Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC)
- Through its subsidiary, Smartbox, in 2021/2022 CareTech supported close to 20,000 individuals around the world through AAC communicate and enhance their quality of life.
- Participation in Care Home Open Week
- In 2022, 68 CareTech services actively participated in Care Home Open Week, showcasing the exceptional care and services provided. This engagement fosters transparency and strengthens relationships with local communities.
- Global Expansion of Purple Tuesday Campaign
- CareTech’s Purple Tuesday disability inclusion campaign expanded its reach to the United States, United Arab Emirates and Pakistan in 2021. At the time the campaign trended as the second most popular topic on Twitter and reached over 5 million people across multiple social platforms.
- This global expansion demonstrates CareTech’s commitment to driving disability inclusion on an international scale.
- Headline Partnership in Care Sector Fundraising Ball
- CareTech served as the Headline Partner for the Care Sector Fundraising Ball which raised over £400,000 for the Care Workers Charity and Alzheimer’s society.
The Purpose Report incorporates CareTech’s Sustainability Manifesto, which is a pledge from CEO Haroon Sheikh, to take a leading role in the social care sector, to contribute to its growth and to prioritise quality provision. The Manifesto principles align with CareTech’s core purpose of empowering people with complex needs to live, thrive and achieve.
