- Danforth Care add 5 star Garstang Care Home to their portfolio
- The opening is the third in Lancashire in the last 12 months, creating 180 jobs in total for the county
Danforth Care continue to expand their care home portfolio with a new facility opening up in Lancashire, making it their third in the county in the last 12 months.
The grand opening for Meadow Croft took place on Friday the 1st of March, with Rossendale House and Pear Tree House already open to the public. The three openings have created a total of 180 jobs for their respective local areas and housed 198 residents.
The new home, with direct transport links to Preston and Blackpool, both within 14 miles, boasts state of the art facilities for the 66 residents who will live there, such an onsite hair salon, café, library, sweet shop and cinema. Built by LNT, the care home also has landscaped gardens and underfloor heating.
Each role within Meadow Croft Care Home comes with a fully funded DBS check and full support in completing an NCQ qualification if desired. All jobs have permanent contracts and come with uniforms.
As well as dedicated and highly trained staff, each resident gets to enjoy a luxury living experience too. During the grand opening, guests got the chance to tour the state-of-the-art facilities within the home, which contains 66 en suite rooms, as well as an on-site cinema, restaurant, salon and library. Guests were also served refreshments made by the care home’s in house chefs.
Each of the rooms have an en suite fully equipped wet room, as well as a flat screen TV and a mini fridge. Residents can enjoy restaurant quality meals cooked daily by Meadow Croft’s chef and team, and a personalised activity schedule.
Home Manager Diane Langford says: “We are absolutely thrilled to have Meadow Croft House officially open in Garstang, Lancashire. It was a pleasure showing off this fabulous new care home, and we can’t wait to serve the wonderful community here in the village.”
“Like all Danforth’s homes, Meadow Croft is A rated for energy and will operate without gas, going pure electric to be as ecofriendly as possible. An underground energy system running miles below the care home will heat the home’s hot water, provide underfloor heating and air cooling for the residents as an added bonus. With 80% of the available roof space lined with solar panels, the home will be making its own electricity, and selling what it doesn’t need back to the grid.”
“We are incredibly proud of all the work done to ensure this care home will be a happy, ecofriendly place to live for decades to come,” says Diane. “We care deeply not just about our residents and staff, but about our planet as well.”
Danforth Care Group have opened 13 care homes in the last 16 months, providing 780 jobs to the care industry, and providing happy and safe homes to 858 vulnerable adults. The next home to be opened by Danforth is Harbour Manor care home, in Suffolk.
