Aurem Care, a leading provider of residential and nursing care, has appointed Richard Lawson as the new Regional Director for the South.

With more than than two decades of experience in the care sector, Richard brings a wealth of knowledge and expertise to his new role, where he will oversee the operations of seven care homes, with plans for expansion on the horizon.

Richard’s career in care began as a home manager, following a successful tenure in the hospitality and entertainment industry. His unique background, combining social sciences and social work training with extensive experience in hospitality, including roles with P and O Cruises, Greene King, and Haven Holidays, equips him with a distinctive approach to care home management.

Richard’s journey has taken him from managing a seaside pier and theatre to providing compassionate care, demonstrating his versatile leadership and commitment to excellence in every endeavour.

On his appointment, Richard Lawson said: “I am thrilled to join Aurem Care as the regional director for the South. My journey has been full circle, from social care and social work to hospitality and back to care, where my heart truly lies. I am passionate about empowering our teams to deliver outstanding care and making Aurem Care synonymous with excellence. I look forward to working with the dedicated staff and residents across our homes, ensuring we provide a home for life for those we care for.”

Leah Marsh, chief executive of Aurem Care, commented on the appointment: “We are excited to welcome Richard to our team. His diverse background and proven track record of leadership and innovation in care make him the perfect fit for this role. Richard’s appointment reflects our commitment to enhancing the lives of our residents through exceptional care and support. We are confident that under his guidance, Aurem Care will continue to set the standard for residential and nursing care in the South.”

Richard, who considers himself a member of the ‘Farmy Army’, has lived all over the country, from Essex to Norfolk and Suffolk, and is currently based in East Sussex. His role at Aurem Care involves not only overseeing the current homes but also ensuring that the staff have the right support, leadership, and opportunities to excel in their roles.
