National Social Care Provider’s HR and Training Teams Awarded Platinum by Investors in People

by Kirsty Kirsty

Creative Support, a national not-for-profit social care provider, is delighted to announce that its HR and Learning & Development departments have been awarded Investors in People Platinum accreditation.

Creative Support supports over 6,000 people with care and support needs in services located over 70 local authorities in England. Its Learning & Development team, headed by Dr Ray Kendall-Corry, is known as ‘Creative Academy’. The department offers a range of training opportunities to enable Creative Support’s staff to reach their full potential, whatever their role within the organisation, ensuring dignity, respect and compassion for all is at the heart of everything Creative Support does. The HR department, led by Michala Bateson, is dedicated to supporting and developing Creative Support staff, providing advice and guidance.

Investors in People sets a standard for how an organisation and its departments should lead, support and develop its staff. Platinum is the highest level awarded by Investors in People, with only 7% of assessed organisations achieving this accreditation.

Within its report, Investors in People said:

“The departments’ approach to leadership is truly compassionate where people are able to feel liberated and motivated to do their jobs through the role modelling of leaders and managers. It is clear that there is a person centred approach where every person should be heard. The continuous improvements over the past three years are an illustration of how Creative Support L&D and HR has progressed and has absorbed feedback to become exceptional, and thoroughly deserves its Investors in People Platinum recognition.”

The report notes that the teams’ overall score means they are significantly above the average Investors in People ‘We Invest in People’ score. Globally, the departments hold the 4th position in benchmark ranking for organisations with 50-249 employees in the sector and the 32nd position worldwide for organisations in the same employee bracket.

Michala Bateson, Head of People and Performance said:

“I’m incredibly proud of the HR Team and all the hard work they do to support each other and the organisation. We are over the moon about this amazing accolade.”

Dr Ray Kendall-Corry, Head of Engagement and Learning said:

“We are so proud of our team. This is an outstanding achievement and we want to thank everyone involved. We are delighted to be Investors in People Platinum.”

Creative Support was proud to receive an Investors in People Gold accreditation for the entire organisation in late 2023.
