Specialist business property adviser, Christie & Co, has announced the sale of a freehold development site with planning consent for a 70-bedroom, state-of-the-art care home scheme in Brentwood, Essex.

Fairview New Homes – which has been building homes in London and the South East for over 60 years – achieved outline consent for the care home scheme in August 2020 as part of wider detailed planning permission for residential housing. When built, it will represent a ‘best-in-class’ care home for the town of Brentwood and have 100 per cent en suite wet rooms and luxury resident amenities.

The care home will sit amongst a collection of 133 beautifully stylish one and two-bedroom apartments and two, three and four-bedroom houses, known as ‘Brentwood Acres’, which is located close to the heart of the bustling town centre.

In a deal brokered by Jordan Rundle at Christie & Co, the development site and care home scheme has been purchased by a national provider.

Rhys Davies, Main Board Land Director at Fairview New Homes Ltd, comments, “Fairview are delighted to have completed the sale of the care home within our Brentwood Acres development. We have recently launched our second phase of homes, following the success of our first phase. We have three and four-bedroom homes available, with prices starting from £575,000.”

Jordan Rundle, Director in the Care Development and Investment team at Christie & Co, comments, “Fairview recognised a care home would be a complimentary neighbour to their high-quality residential development in addition to providing numerous social benefits, and employment opportunities for the local community. This will be an outstanding urban scheme once completed, and we continue to see robust demand levels for care development sites across the country, particularly within the M25 area where land supply is limited.”

The freehold of the development site was sold for an undisclosed price.
