Right at Home’s award-winning Guildford and Farnham (GF) franchise is expanding the area it serves following the acquisition of the Camberley and Woking branch.
Owner Alastair Shanks has purchased the home care franchise from former Managing Director Bob Thornton, taking the number of territories under his portfolio to three.
Alastair started the Right at Home GF franchise in 2012 and later opened more offices to serve residents in Alton and Bordon and Twickenham and Richmond.
He estimates that he and his team have provided around 720,000 hours of care, helping approximately 1,600 people to live well and independently in their own homes, over the last 12 years.
Commenting on the latest acquisition, Alastair said: “I am absolutely delighted to be taking responsibility for Right at Home Camberley and Woking. I have known Bob since he started his business and have seen him grow it into the success it is now.
“My senior team and I are very much looking forward to supporting the Camberley team to expand further and to offer some of the community events we run in other parts of our territory, like Singing for the Mind.”
Bob and his wife Deborah said they are now looking forward to spending more time with their growing family following the sale of the business.
Bob added: “Right at Home has been my second family for nearly ten years. Through the challenges of starting a new business back in 2014, to keeping our clients and carers safe through COVID, and then continuing to grow the business and support our team – every day has been focussed on making a difference in our Clients’ lives.
“I will miss our Clients and our incredible CareGivers – some of them have been with me on this journey for a long time. I know that I am leaving this very special company in the very safe hands of Alastair, who shares my strong work ethic and moral values and will continue to offer high quality care in Camberley, Woking and the surrounding areas.”
Right at Home GF employs over 100 members of staff to deliver a range of quality home care services, from companionship care and support to 24-hour live-in care.
The franchise is rated Outstanding by the Care Quality Commission and has an overall score of 9.9/10 on independent reviews site homecare.co.uk.
