Mavern House, a 54 bed care home in the beautiful village of Shaw near Melksham in Wiltshire, has appointed Rosie Hardie as its new care home manager. A trained nurse, Rosie brings with her broad experience of working in social care both within the NHS and the private sector, and a passion for improving the lives of older people.
Rosie began her career as a nurse, working as a community district nurse for eight years. She then moved to the NHS’s crisis intervention team in North Wales where she helped to avoid unnecessary hospital admissions by ensuring the right care packages were in place for some of society’s most vulnerable people. Rosie worked her way up to lead the team, eventually managing a group of over 20 people.
Moving to the private sector, Rosie took on the challenge of helping to establish a new dementia village in Chester by joining the commissioning management team for the project. Rosie was then head-hunted to be a regional manager across six care homes in North Wales and Chester.
Rosie’s move to Mavern House follows a family relocation to Wiltshire and her desire to focus her attention on enhancing the quality and standards of care in a single home, where she feels she can have the greatest impact.
Rosie Hardie said:
“I am delighted to have the opportunity to be Mavern House’s new care home manager and to be joining such a committed and well-established team. Mavern House is a vibrant and happy home where the residents are always well-looked after.
“In addition to building great relationships with the residents and the caring team here, one of my first priorities will be to develop closer ties with the wider Shaw community and to introduce intergenerational activities with local primary schools. I’m looking forward to making my contribution to ensuring the lives of our residents continue to be happy, purposeful and dignified.”
Mavern House provides nursing, dementia, residential and respite care for up to 54 residents. It prides itself on its personalised, nurturing and compassionate approach to care and is acknowledged as a leading care home in the local area. It is rated as ‘Good’ by the Care Quality Commission (CQC) across all five of its assessment criteria; safe, effective, caring, responsive and well-led.
