Organised by Person Centred Software, #GladtoCare Awareness Week, which ran from the 20th – 24th May 2024, has now concluded with resounding success. With over 800 sign-ups across the UK and Australia, the campaign saw an incredible response from the care community in both regions.
During the week-long event, numerous activities were organised to highlight and appreciate the dedication of carers and express gratitude for their exceptional effort in improving the lives of residents daily.
The campaign aimed to increase recognition and appreciation for the outstanding care provided by staff members who play a pivotal role in improving the wellbeing and enhancing the quality of life for the residents under their care. One of the highlights was the Live Zoom sessions provided to all who signed up during the week: the Motivation Monday exercise class, led by Stefan McLaughlin from the Person Centred Software wellbeing team and the Wellbeing Wednesday Pilates session with Ruth Melling from RM Pilates & Coaching. These activities attracted over 100 participants and provided an opportunity for care staff and residents to unwind and connect.
Care providers came together and participated in the curated activities of #GladtoCare Week, and many also ran their own unique and fun activities to celebrate the occasion. Everyone was encouraged to share their experiences and document their activities on social media platforms using the hashtag #GladtoCare. The abundance of photos and videos shared during the week showcased the dedication and creativity of care providers and sparked inspiration for others.
A few #GladtoCare competitions were held to encourage involvement. For example, care organisations like Brighter Days Care and Outram Fields, part of Cinnamon Care Collection, were recognised for their outstanding participation and won exciting prizes. The Person Centred Software team was invited to visit The Brendoncare Foundation on ‘Thankful Thursday’ to join in on their celebrations. They actively participated in their resident activities, showing support and appreciation.
In addition to celebrating the hard work of care staff, the #GladtoCare campaign served as a fundraising initiative for Person Centred Software’s chosen charities – The Care Worker’s Charity and CommonAge. For every person who signed up, £2 was contributed to the charity fund. This resulted in a total of £1,200 being raised for The Care Worker’s Charity and 400 Australian Dollars donated to support the valuable work of CommonAge.
Yasmeen Hassoun, Head of International Marketing at Person Centred Software, commented, “We are thrilled with the response and engagement we received during #GladtoCare Awareness Week.
It was great to witness the care sector come together, participate in various activities, and show appreciation for the exceptional work of carers.
