Acquisition of Bluebird Care Oxford creates the largest group under Bluebird Care Network

This week colleagues at Bluebird Care Oxford met new owners, business partners Peter Slough and Tim Rowland-Jones. On 3 June 2024, Peter and Tim took over ownership of Bluebird Care Oxford, South Oxfordshire and West Oxfordshire from Robert Mezo who started the business in 2013.

As directors and owners of four Bluebird Care offices, covering eight areas across south west England and London, the addition of the Oxford office makes Tim and Peter the owners of the largest group operating within the Bluebird Care network. Bluebird Care is a national brand and is the biggest provider of private home care in the UK.

With a collective 25 years in care, both Tim and Peter joined the sector after experiencing the challenge of accessing quality, person-centred home care services for members of their own families. Dedicated to providing the highest quality home care, focussed on individual needs and goals, the business partners are committed to growing Bluebird Care’s services in Oxfordshire, so more people can benefit from personalised care that enables them to remain as independent as possible at home.

Including the new addition, all offices within the duo’s group structure are highly regarded and rated ‘Outstanding’ or ‘Good’ by the Care Quality Commission (CQC).

Delivering quality home care to more than 434 customers each day, and employing 400 people, the group of five offices, covering eight areas is the largest within the Bluebird Care network across the UK and includes: Bluebird Care (Bristol), Bluebird Care (Bath & NE Somerset), Bluebird Care (Richmond & Twickenham), Bluebird Care (Westminster & City of London and Kensington & Chelsea), and Bluebird Care (Oxford, South Oxfordshire & West Oxfordshire).

Alongside the acquisition of Bluebird Care Oxford, Tim and Peter have appointed experienced care leader, Melony Fairchild as Operations Director. Melony has extensive experience in leadership roles at national car providers including Nursepluse UK and Trinity Homecare.
