Aaron Doddington-Smith has been appointed as Registered Manager at Amber Lodge in Lowestoft, Suffolk, part of Milewood Individual Care and Support. The CQC Good rated Amber Lodge is a leading provider of personalised care for individuals with complex needs, and Aaron’s extensive experience in the care sector is set to further strengthen the high standards of care offered at the facility.
Aaron brings with him nine years of experience in the care sector, having worked predominantly at Acorn Park Adult Services, a nine-bed provision for adults with Autism and complex needs.
Starting on a bank contract, Aaron quickly demonstrated his dedication and skill, progressing through roles as a full-time care worker, team leader, and deputy manager before taking on the role of Acting Registered Manager. His journey reflects a deep commitment to supporting individuals with complex needs and empowering care teams to deliver person-centred care.
Speaking on his new role at Amber Lodge, Aaron said, “I am excited to be working for Milewood, especially at a time where there are significant changes across the company aimed at further improving the lives of the individuals we support.
“I can tell that at the core of Milewood is a drive to ensure that we are empowering our individuals in all aspects of their lives, and this aligns perfectly with my ethos. As a manager, I believe in also empowering my team to deliver the highest standard of person-centred care, ensuring that everyone we support is given every opportunity to thrive.
“I am particularly passionate about promoting positive behaviour support and recognising that all behaviour is a form of communication. It’s crucial that the voices of those we support are listened to, respected, and celebrated.”
Martyn Heginbotham, Chief Executive of Milewood Individual Care and Support, expressed his enthusiasm for Aaron’s appointment, stating, “We are thrilled to welcome Aaron to the Milewood family. His dedication to person-centred care and his extensive experience in the sector make him an invaluable addition to Amber Lodge. We are confident that under his leadership, the team at Amber Lodge will continue to deliver exceptional care and support to the individuals we serve.”

He is currently training for a 250-mile running event next year. Aaron is also actively involved in the community, volunteering every week as part of the core team for parkruns in Norwich and Gorleston.
