Multi award-winning and CQC-rated ‘Outstanding’ live-in care provider, The Good Care Group, has appointed three new senior figures to lead the award-winning group in its next chapter.

The at-home care provider operates across England and Scotland and provides personalised, one-to-one live-in care and support to older individuals, as well as short-term respite care and hourly care in London. The organisation has appointed Jonathan Byrd as its new Managing Director, Laura Davies as its new Chief Operating Officer, and Belinda Hanton as its new Marketing and Sales Director.

Sara Griffin will continue her senior leadership role of Finance Director, supporting the business to achieve its objectives while driving continuous improvement across financial processes.

Jonathan Byrd possesses over 20 years’ experience in healthcare, predominantly in private healthcare. He most recently worked as Managing Director of Complex Care at City and County Healthcare Group, overseeing a business which provided care to people at home across the UK via a team of specialist carers. He also worked as Group Commercial Director for Nuffield Health for eight years, where he was instrumental in the development of its primary care and health screening services.

Jonathan said of his new position:

“I am delighted to be joining The Good Care Group as Managing Director.

“I am incredibly excited to play a key role in elevating people’s knowledge and understanding of the benefits of live-in care.

“Local live-in care provision is crucial in ensuring people can stay in their communities for longer, something we know is important for people’s wellbeing and retaining their independence and autonomy.

“A key part of our strategy going forward will be to expand into a greater number of local regions, ensuring people can receive care in familiar surroundings whilst reducing pressure on local health services.”

Laura Davies joins with over 20 years’ experience working across regulatory compliance and safeguarding, with the remit of her new role at The Good Care Group being to focus on overseeing the company’s operations, ensuring outstanding care continues to be delivered. Laura has significant experience in care regulation and quality assurance in care, resulting from her time as Quality and Training Director for supported living provider, Aspirations Care, as well as Head of Safeguarding & Prevent at Ruskin Mill Trust, an educational charity which provides residential care, where she was responsible for ensuring legislative compliance across the UK.

Laura said:

“I am incredibly proud to have the opportunity to be part of The Good Care Group, playing a key role in ensuring that clients receive exemplary care and that carers are equipped with the right knowledge and processes to ensure the continuation of a high-quality service.”

Belinda Hanton joins the company with over 15 years’ experience in building high-performing teams to deliver growth, while ensuring the customer experience is at the centre of the business and marketing strategy. At LloydsDirect, Belinda successfully created a growth strategy across digital and non-digital channels for core NHS prescription services and achieved double digit customer growth. Her remit at The Good Care Group will be to focus on client acquisition, ensuring strong awareness of live-in care as an option, as well as client retention.

Belinda said:

“I’m thrilled to be joining The Good Care Group to support its next phase. With recent policy changes in care, it is our responsibility as an CQC-rated outstanding live-in care provider to ensure people fully understand the options available to them and that moving into a care home does not need to be the only choice.”
