Cera, one of the UK’s largest home care providers, has acquired Care at Home Services – strengthening its national network and expanding its reach and impact.
Care at Home Services is a leading domiciliary and live-in care provider operating across the South, South East, East Midlands and London. The acquisition brings more than 5,500 service users and over 2,100 carers into Cera’s operations
This latest transaction reflects Cera’s ability to take on large-scale businesses and deliver smooth, collaborative transfers of ownership. Cera’s approach protects jobs, ensures seamless care for service users, and offers exiting providers a trusted, straightforward route to step away from their business with confidence.
The acquisition will see Cera roll out its preventative technology, including its Falls Prevention AI and Hospitalisation Predict-Prevent tool, across Care at Home Services’ operations – increasing the reach and impact of its proprietary technology. Cera’s predictive AI tools are underpinned by its world-leading home healthcare dataset of over 230 billion service user health data points – now set to grow even further thanks to this latest acquisition.
Beyond technology-enabled home care, Cera’s services include nursing, complex care, live-in care and learning disabilities care. The company has also recently expanded into healthcare research partnerships, and begun licensing its proprietary technology to other care providers, with its non-home care service lines now making up almost one-fifth of its overall business.
Matt Ashley, Chief Financial Officer at Cera, said: “Care at Home Services brings a fantastic reputation for quality and compassion, and we are pleased to welcome its care teams and service users into the fold at Cera. This acquisition marks an exciting step for Cera – further increasing the reach of our innovation and our impact.
Across the UK, many care providers are struggling to succeed in the face of mounting challenges, including workforce shortages, funding pressures and increasing demand for care as the population ages. Cera’s scale, technology, infrastructure and sector partnerships allow it to safeguard services – ensuring care, employment and local relationships are preserved. Cera continues to welcome confidential conversations with care business owners looking to exit their business.
