Danforth Care Opens Orchard Manor Care Home in Surrey

by Lisa Carr

The ribbon was cut to open Orchard Manor luxury care home by the Mayor at a grand opening ceremony  on the 28th of October.  The opening marks the 12th facility in the Danforth portfolio, and the first in Surrey. This comes only one day since their last grand opening, with Brook Lodge in Essex opening on the 27th of October.

Both openings are set to create 120 new jobs, which all come with a fully funded DBS check and full support in completing an NCQ qualification if desired. All jobs have permanent contracts and come with uniform.

The luxury care home in Surrey has excellent transport links, located in the picturesque Windlesham and easily accessible via the M3 motorway. Set to be home to 66 residents, the care facility was purpose built by the LNT group and boasts amenities such as a sensory garden, a café bar, library and cinema.

Each resident with a private room with state-of-the-art facilities including en-suite wet rooms, smart TVs and mini fridges. The home also offers restaurant-quality food cooked by the team’s on-site chefs, as well as 24-hour residential, dementia or respite care, tailored to individual requirements.

Orchard Manor’s Home Manager Jamila Faerber says “It was wonderful to welcome the Mayor to cut the ribbon for our brand-new care home, Orchard Manor. The 5 star facility will be an asset to the community in Windlesham, as well as a wonderful fun and safe home for residents.”

Supporting our residents in leading meaningful and comfortable lives is always our priority. That’s why we take a person-centred approach, tailoring care and activities around the individual to ensure our residents are recognised as individuals and their specific needs are met.”

Both Orchard Manor and Brook Lodge have been built with environmentally friendly initiatives throughout. 80% of the roofs of the homes are covered in solar panels for electricity generation, with an on-site battery to store excess energy for use at another time.

As well as this, the homes come with an A energy-rating and a carbon-free status, meaning they operate without gas. State of the art ground source heating technology has been built under the sites instead, which will also be used for underfloor and water heating, as well as air-cooling systems.

“It’s important we both look after the people in our community and the environment we live in,” says Jamila.  “Danforth Care is taking every step to ensure both are cared for, and we’re so proud to be an A rated and carbon free care home and a national care awards 2023 finalist as a result.”

The next home from Danforth Care Home Group, Montagu Hall, will open in November 2023 in Mexborough, South Yorkshire.
